A Passion Turned Into a Purpose
Midwest Fragrance was born out of two things: a lifelong dream of owning a business, and a genuine love of fragrance.
I'm Andrew, the founder, owner, and — depending on the day — the packer, shipper, and customer service team all rolled into one. Based in the Quad Cities on the Iowa/Illinois border, I'm about as solidly Midwest as it gets. And like most people from this part of the country, I believe in doing things the right way: with honesty, hard work, and a genuine desire to help.
Why Fragrance?
A while back I fell deep into the world of fragrance — the kind of rabbit hole where you're reading reviews at midnight and sampling everything you can get your hands on. From iconic designer houses to rare niche perfumers to the rich, resinous traditions of Middle Eastern oud and attar — I became fascinated by the full spectrum of what fragrance can be. How a single scent can change how you feel, how others perceive you, and even how you remember a moment in time. Fragrance is personal in a way that few things are.
The more I explored, the more I realized there was a better way to shop for it.
The Problem with the Way Things Are
Walk into a big department store and try to find help choosing a fragrance. Nine times out of ten you're on your own — wandering through glass cases, spraying cards until your nose gives up, with no one to guide you. It's overwhelming, and it's not how it should be.
I've always preferred shopping somewhere that actually feels like someone cares. The kind of clothing store where a real person looks at what you're trying to accomplish and helps you get there — whether you already know what you want or you have no idea where to start. That's the experience I want Midwest Fragrance to be.
