Givenchy Gentleman EDT Intense

Gentleman EDT Intense is a woody aromatic flanker launched in 2021, created by Nathalie Lorson and Olivier Cresp. It arrived not as a mere flanker, but as a considered statement—a more potent and assertive iteration of the classic Gentleman EDT, conceived to offer a richer, more enveloping olfactory experience.

The opening is an almost suffocating aromatic punch—fresh bergamot and copious amounts of basil juice, with cardamom contributing to this fatigue upon the initial spray, as it's a lot of green information hitting you all at once. After the opening, the iris note arrives in all its woody, camphorous, slightly earthy glory, with a hint of vintage makeup lingering behind branches of Christmas cypress. When it warms up you get a gorgeous, creamy, vanillic iris that is so pleasant to smell—a little fresh, a little spicy, and a little warm.

In the dry down, the cedarwood comes forward more prominently, providing a crisp, woody base that exudes quiet confidence, while coumarin lends a warm, slightly almond-like sweetness. Gentleman EDT Intense lasts seven to eight hours on the skin with gentlemanly projection—it pushes out two to three feet for most of the wear.
