LV Attrape-Reves

Attrape-Rêves — French for "dreamcatcher" — was launched in 2018 and created by Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, inspired by the euphoria sparked upon an unexpected and surprising encounter. The Louis Vuitton Master Perfumer imagined Attrape-Rêves as "a conquering perfume" and created an empowering composition of contrasts, where an elegant peony encounters a raw cocoa powder.

The opening is an immediate, sparkling burst of litchi, bergamot, and ginger — bright, slightly tart, and unmistakably uplifting. The bergamot and ginger begin to fade from the composition, which allows the cocoa, peony, and rose to emerge. Not a strong Turkish rose, this one will mostly be about the peony — things become more gourmand thanks to that cocoa, which adds a dreamlike softness to the florals without going heavy or cloying.

Attrape-Rêves does have a significant amount of patchouli, but it isn't the focus. However, it's probably the second or third strongest note throughout the wear. Longevity reaches 7 to 8.5 hours with the Louis Vuitton, with above average to strong scent trail behind the wearer. Usually, the first 2 or so hours gives strong projection, then settles to a soft, skin-close warmth in the later hours.

Attrape-Rêves doesn't pack the same punch as Delina, which would still be intensely fruity and floral at the same mark, but the LV creation smells a bit more elegant and slightly less juvenile. Community comparisons land most often on Delina Eau de Parfum but this is a bit juicier. If you love the idea of a lush floral-fruity with an addictive cocoa-rose heart that gets compliments and wears beautifully throughout the day, this is one of the best in its class to sample.
