Luna Rossa Carbon is Prada's distinctive aromatic fougère, launched in 2017 and created by Daniela Roche-Andrier — inspired by the world of extreme sailing competition, an ode to high performance through high innovation. The house describes it as bringing together steam-distilled botanicals and synthetics in a mineral-forward mix: metallic notes of lavender, green citrus of bergamot from Italy, radiant wood of patchouli and dry amber of ambroxan.

The fragrance opens with a fresh bergamot and pepper accord which is not overly citrusy. The heart is a unique metallic lavender note which is prominent, giving Carbon its signature industrial edge — a smooth lavender and ambroxan modern fougère with a well-groomed barbershop vibe. A green, floral geranium note is also present in the heart.

The base is all about a minerallic and woody ambroxan note accompanied by a dry, earthy patchouli note.
